Brothers Mike and Joe Simeone founded and opened their first Artisano Bakery Café in 2006 within walking distance to where they grew up in Etobicoke, close to The Queensway and Islington Avenue.

They were raised in an Italian household. Their mom, Antonia, was an amazing cook. She made everything from scratch. Mike and Joe loved their mom’s cooking. It was this love for good food and freshly baked breads that inspired them to create the Artisano Bakery Café concept.

The Artisano name was chosen to reflect the founder’s Italian roots but to also convey the artisanal approach to cooking and baking.

Today, Artisano is a friendly neighbourhood café where people are treated like house guests, not customers. A place where the food is healthy and fresh, not fast and fried. All in a warm and friendly environment where people can relax, meet up with friends and associates, and enjoy wholesome meals , fresh-baked goods and great coffee.
